Dr Nyathappa Anand completed his medical degree from VIMS (Vijayanagar Institute of medical sciences, Bellary, India) and Internal medicine residency from Bangalore, India.He worked as a Physician specialist for ministry of health. Turks and Caicos islands for few years and moved to United states. He successfully completed Neurology residency from University of Toledo, Ohio and Fellowship in Epilepsy from University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida. He was awarded the best Resident teaching award and Arnold award for humanism and excellence from University of Toledo, Ohio.During his tenure as the Chief neurologist at Niagara Falls Memorial hospital, he assumed the leadership position as the Stroke director and was chiefly instrumental in getting the designation Primary Stroke Center from Joint Committee. Dr Anand was a very good sportsman in his younger days and was voted the best out going sportsman in his medical school. He has also represented Karnataka state, India in Badminton. He passionately follows most of the sports (Soccer, NBA, Cricket, Tennis) Music, Travel and Chess are some of his other interests.
